Yulian Dorosh
Yulian-Yuriy Dorosh is a Ukrainian photographer, documentarian, and reporter. He was one of the organizers of the Ukrainian Photographic Society, director and cinematographer of the first professional film in Galicia "For Good and Beauty". Led photo-amateur columns in plast magazines "Lights" and "Young Life"; in the newspaper "Sunday" and the magazine "Cinema", where he worked as a co-editor. In 1931, in Lviv, he published the first on the territory of Galicia "Photo-amateur's Handbook", which was accompanied by a small dictionary of photo terminology. In 1932, he published the second professional edition - "Enlargement". In 1933, he took part in the "Exhibition of World Progress" in Chicago. He shot two ethnographic films: "Rakovets" and "Hutsulshchyna"; filmed many reports on various important events of Ukrainian national and cultural life. In 1936, he founded the "Fotofilm" enterprise, which was engaged in film production. In July 1938, he shot a film about the funeral of the UGA commander, General M. Tarnavskyi.
